Availability

— The Foundation will accept grant requests from organizations exempt from federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to fund projects in the Baker County, Oregon and the North Powder, Oregon geographical area.

— Applicants may apply under another entity’s 501(c)(3) status if the entity who holds the status exerts control over or participates with the applicant.

— No grants will be made to another private Foundation.

— Grant requests will not be considered unless they are complete and received on or before the deadline as established by the Board of Directors of the Foundation.

Criteria for Awards

— The Board of Directors of the Foundation, at their discretion, may award funds in amounts determined by the Board, to organizations for community-minded projects based on the project’s merit, benefit and service to the community at large.

Submission Deadline

— Grant applications must be submitted on or before October 1.

Award Determination

— Grants will be determined no later than December 31.

Grant Update Report

Those who are awarded community grants are required to follow up with the Buerkel-Zoellner Foundation by August 1 of year following the award and receipt of funds, to account for how the funds have been used.
